September 2022 2-D Featured Artist Susan Kapuchinski

Susan Kapuchinski’s primary focus is oil on canvas. She bases much of her work on photos and sketches from her worldwide travels. They are her inspiration as she strives to convey the magic from that sense of place. She also enjoys painting colorful local Florida landscapes. A composition that explores the inherent beauty in nature, either from a singular orchid bloom or a
specific setting, is her model. Dramatic effects of contrasting light and shadows fascinate her as she vividly captures them with brushstrokes or palette knife. Her goal is to make her artwork sing!
Susan spent many years as a commissioned decorative fine arts painter selling her work to buyers in southern New England. In 2003, after a year sabbatical in Australia where she studied at the Griselda Academy, she relocated to Punta Gorda, and became active in the Visual Arts Center. She was a member of the Sea Grape Art Gallery for many years and has shown her work at the Von Liebig Art Center Encounter in Naples and the National Art Show at the Visual Arts
Center as well as regularly exhibiting her work in local art shows.
