October 2021 3-D Featured Artist Gay Cable
Gay Cable grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, where she won many awards for her paintings and drawings. In college, she obtained a Master’s Degree in psychology and worked in Ohio as a counselor in a private agency for over 20 years. During those years Gay took various classes in drawing and painting, needlework, sewing, decoupage, fused glass, macramé and silver smithing.
“Twenty-two years ago, when I took my first jewelry making class I knew I had found my artistic passion,” said Gay. “I retired from counseling, entered the field of jewelry design and a year later started my own business, Gay Cable Jewelry. I make upscale jewelry using semi-precious gemstones and sterling silver for my one-of-a-kind creations.”
Through the years she’s been a featured artist in many art shows and sold her jewelry in boutiques, hotels, hospitals, gift shops and art galleries. Presently, her jewelry is sold in various galleries throughout Florida and Ohio. Gay now makes her home in Pine Island.
