November 2023 Featured 3D Artist Lois Johnston

Born in Westchester, NY, Lois Johnston studied art at the Propersi School of Art in Greenwich, Connecticut and various universities in New York. While working in the corporate community, she continued her training with artists specializing in painting, weaving, and stained glass. After moving to Florida 17 years ago, she began painting with glass.

Raised amongst her family’s gardens and orchards has influenced her choice of artistic subjects, giving her a sincere appreciation for the beauty and design elements of nature. Traveling across the U.S., including Hawaii and Alaska, and spending time in Peru, Bolivia, Spain, Ireland, Italy and many of the Caribbean islands has given her an appreciation for the majesty of landscapes. Now that she lives in Florida, she is constantly inspired by the stunning sunsets and seascapes that surround her, and has recently developed an appreciation for abstract art.

Prior to moving to Southwest Florida, she worked as a commissioned artist, known for her portraits, botanicals and stained glass. Lois has also conducted classes in a multitude of art mediums. She has taught glass fusing classes at AAE Glass, Cape Coral Art League, Ft. Myers Art League and Arts of the Inland in LaBelle.
