May 2025 3-D Featured Artist Rick Alipertis
Rick Alipertis’ journey with clay began in 1971 when he started producing hanging planters from his new studio he set up in his parent’s basement. He sold them at various craft fairs on Long Island, NY while attending Nassau Community College earning an AA degree in Art.
In 1973 he took a position as a potter and counselor with the Baldwin Community House where he met his future wife, Margaret. He continued to produce pottery and clay whistles selling them at various craft fairs on Long Island until he and his family moved to Cape Coral in 2005.
As Rick settled into life in the Cape, he set up his studio and once again started producing pottery. He saw the planter market as a good opportunity to focus on and show his unique creations in fairs focused on plants. He hand throws an inventory of pots custom made for each fair. These special pots vary from batch to batch keeping his inventory fresh and unique. “I hope you will come to see the assortment of planters I made for this show at the gallery during the month of May and spruce up your garden,” he said.
