March 2025 2-D Featured Artist Carmen Sprague
Carmen Sprague is a fine art photographer and is currently president of the Cape Coral Art League, director of the gift shop and teacher of photography and graphics at the Art League located on Cultural Boulevard. She is originally from Lansing Michigan where she worked as editor and chief photographer for General Motors “Warehouse Views” and the “Communicator.” She was honored to win first place in the under 5000 distribution category for layout ad content.
While in Lansing, she received a Degree in Applied Science in photography and graphics at Lansing Community College’s Media Institute. Carmen owned “Exposures Photography Studio” in Lansing for 18 years and received numerous awards.
Carmen moved to the Florida Keys in 1996 after receiving a cancer diagnosis. “I felt it was the right time for me to live the ‘American Dream’ as a full-time photography artist,” she said. She became an active member of the Florida Keys Art Guild and owned and operated “Carmen’s Gallery” in Key West for eight years and was co-owner of “Artists in Paradise” on Big Pine Key.
“I feel blessed to live in the state of perpetual sun and indulge in my artistic talents,” she concluded. “My work can be found locally at the Art League and at Etsy/CarmensGallery.”
