In an earlier life, I completed a BA in Architecture followed by a professional degree also in Architecture. While never practicing in the field, the five years of study served as a foundation for a variety of career choices.
I’ve served and retired from the military, taught at the collegial level in the field of international studies & leadership training, and still lecture on world politics and economics for cruise ships lines. Through all of these careers, I continue to explore art as a hobby. Over these years, I have done a fair amount of work in two-dimensional art – exploring pen and ink, pencil, pastels, oils, and acrylic mediums – but never watercolors.
In retirement, I began to experiment in this new medium, initially for my personal enjoyment, but now I have begun to successfully sell my work.
I am a work in progress as a watercolorist. Instead of fighting the instinctual structure that my architectural background instilled in me, I am attempting to use it to develop a more unique and personal watercolor style.
