June 2024 2-D Featured Artist Tracy Owen-Cullimore

Tracy Owen-Cullimore a.k.a Artsy Tracy, says, “There aren’t enough hours in the day to paint, and I can’t wait to get to work in the morning, or the wee hours of the night.”  She uses both water media and oil and specializes in figurative work and portraits of animals and people. “I know I’ve succeeded in getting that something extra when my clients get tears in their eyes,” she said.

She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Art History and Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara. “I knew I’d be an artist at the age of three,” she continued.

Tracy paints directly, alla prima by hand without the aid of drawing tools. Her work is considered to be on the border between realism and impressionism, as she captures more than the essence of her subject with an unmistakable likeness, but in a loose, artistic way.

She has participated in many one woman shows, invitationals and has won national acclaim. She is a Signature Member of the Florida Watercolor Society and a supporter of many art venues throughout southwest Florida. She also teaches classes and does commission work. Her creations are found in many private collections throughout the US, Canada and Europe.
