July 2020 2D Featured Artist Kathy Fitzgerald

Kathryn Fitzgerald was born and raised in Westchester County, New York. After attending the University of Denver and Manhattanville College in New York, she received her BFA degree. “I began my artistic endeavors designing original batik clothing,” said Fitzgerald. “I exhibited at the New York Renaissance Festival for several years as well as in Long Island, New York.”

Kathryn apprenticed in Virginia and became accomplished at making original windows, mosaics and wall art. She was also introduced to glass fusing at that time.

She began working in earnest with stained glass after her children grew up and found it has become a love and a passion for her. 

 “My exhibiting success and commissions, in and outside of Florida, have allowed me to develop my style and diversity in stained glass art,” she explained.  Kathryn is a member of the Southwest Florida Fine Crafts Guild and the Punta Gorda Visual Arts Center. She exhibits her work in Sarasota, Naples, Matlacha, Sanibel, Bradenton and Punta Gorda. She is also available for original custom work and repair.
