January 2026 2-D Featured Artist Janet Sames

Janet Sams has always been fascinated with 2D art in all forms, so transforming glass
scraps and other “unwanted” materials into works of art is a real pleasure. She
understands how waiting creative, comment-worthy artwork feels, so she creates glass
art pieces that draw attention and invite conversation.

Shattered, reclaimed glass is Janet’s current medium. Janet has worked with mosaic,
acrylic fabric and now glass. The vibrant colors and random shapes of the glass invite
her creative mind to think out of the box, always. Janet looks for texture, shape, and
color when she sources glass from glass blowers and other facilities rich with discarded
glass shards, tempered glass and stained glass. Reducing her carbon footprint has
always been a personal goal of Janet’s, so blending the environment into her art is a
core value.
