January 2024 3-D Featured Artist Rosemary Collins
Rosemary Collins, talented stained glass and fused dichroic glass artist, lives in the Cape Harbour Condominium Towers. In 1983 she opened her studio in upstate New York where she worked in stained glass for residential and commercial use.
In 1987 Rosemary attended the Pilchuck School of Glass outside Seattle, Washington for two summer sessions. Then, in 1990 she took home furnishing and decoration classes at Syracuse University because she wanted to be able to offer her clients the best choices for windows in their homes. She later felt fortunate to attend many workshops at Corning Glass and that is when she started fusing. “I bought a 22 x 22 kiln and away I went to a different world,” she said. “My work in New York was quite abstract and serious, but after moving to Charleston, SC in 2004, I was inspired to create eye-catching floral works.”
