January 2023 3-D Featured Artist Jan Butler

Jan Butler was a featured artist at the gallery a year ago and her fused glass featured many realistic looking fish. With two saltwater aquariums in her home, and a very cooperative shoal of fish, the models were at the ready. However, Butler has let the fish retire and is now focusing more on abstract fish and fun fish in both her glass work and pottery designs. 

This year, much of Jan’s work will be functional art. Twenty years ago her first piece of pottery was a casserole dish which she still uses and enjoys today. She believes that whether it’s a beautiful pottery plate on a display stand or a glass bowl of bubbles on the buffet, it’s exciting to be able to use art pieces.
