December 2024 2-D Featured Artist Nancy Cunningham
Nancy Cunningham moved to Florida 20 years ago from Columbus, Ohio. After a ten-year stint at the Lee County Attorney’s office in Fort Myers, she was able to devote herself full-time to creating art. Florida’s abundant sunshine and her daily encounters with its vibrant colors in the local flora and fauna fed her imagination.
“I work with acrylic on canvas, and my art sometimes depicts larger-than-life birds and aquatic creatures with intense eyes and vibrant, defined colors,” said Nancy.
Her work has been shown at a variety of local galleries. She was also selected to paint utility boxes in Cape Coral and Ft. Lauderdale. Her most recent artwork was used by WGCU TV (PBS) for their sea tote bag design as part of their fundraising project.
Along with her passion for art, she is an avid offshore fisherwoman, boater and grower of exotic plants and orchids.
