December 2021 2-D Featured Artist Beth Blewett

Beth Blewett began a long-held dream of becoming a working artist by taking classes at the Cape Coral Art League after a 30-year career as a plant biologist and corporate research and development director. Her working career allowed her to visit many locations across the United States and the world, and during her travels she deepened her understanding of the natural and cultural diversity that exists on earth.

 “After retirement in 2015, my husband and I relocated full-time to Cape Coral,” said Beth. “Painting is pure enjoyment for me, and the medium through which I hope to convey my deep appreciation for the world of nature, the people and the places of this wondrous planet we call home. I paint primarily with acrylics but occasionally employ pastels or oils.”

She is a member of the Cape Coral Art League and Pine Island Art Association. Her paintings have won awards at both locations, including “Best of Show” at the 2017 and 2019 Pine Island Art Shows.
