August 2023 2-D Featured Artist Mary Widmer

Mary Widmer considers herself to be an evolving artist. “I have painted on feathers and fans, but my current passion is painting watercolors,” she said. “So far, my favorite subjects are animals and abstracts although I’ve experimented with a variety of themes. It’s magical to watch the paint take a form of its own. My husband and I moved to Florida in 1995 and love the sunshine and how the colors in the tropics are so dynamic. They definitely impact my paintings.”

Mary has exhibited her work at Florida Southwest State College in Fort Myers, Big Arts, Alliance for the Arts, Bonita Arts for Act, Springs Art Center, Cape Coral Art Center and the Cape Coral Art League.
